Yong Li, MD

Dr. Li currently is the chief physician of Guangdong General Hospital, Guangdong Academy of Medical Sciences and Professor of Southern Medical University, Guangzhou, China. He completed his undergraduate and medical school training at the University of Shandong and then he obtained his master degree and doctorate degree from Sun Yat-sen University and completed the training at the first affiliated hospital of Sun Yat-sen University and Sun Yat-sen University Cancer Center. He has been a visiting scholar to visit the top hospitals in the world like Mayo Clinic and Cleveland Clinic.

Dr. Li is the Vice-Council of Youth Commission of Oncological Surgery, Chinese Medical Doctor Association and the Youth Commission of Gastric Cancer, Guangdong Province Anti-Cancer Association; a committee member of the Guangdong Medical Association, the Guangdong Medical Doctor Association and Guangzhou Medical Association. He is also a member of Chinese Society of Clinical Oncology (CSCO) and International Association of Surgeons, Gastroenterologist and Oncologist (IASGO).

He has led the establishment of a multi-center database for gastrointestinal stromal tumors, digestive reconstruction after total gastrectomy and Fast-track surgery in the gastrectomy. He has published two books "Notes on Laparoscopic Gastrointestinal Surgery" (Chinese version and English version) and "Notes On Fast Track in Gastrointestinal Surgery". Dr. Li specialized in all kinds of diseases about gastrointestinal surgery and has extensive experience in international multicenter studies. He recently developed a special interest in mobile health.
