Gastrointestinal stromal tumor (GIST) is an uncommon tumor that occurs in the wall of the gastrointestinal (GI) tract and it can be malignant or benign. Though it has a long history of discovery, the prevalence of GIST is still not available and it is believed that the prevalence of it must be higher than people thought (between 6.5 and 14.5 per million per year) (1). Keeping that in mind, we are pleased to launch this new book, Gastrointestinal Stromal Tumor, to help researchers and interested readers better understand GIST.

To capture the full range of distinguished experts’ thinking on GIST, 112 international leading experts from 11 countries all around the world are gathered to give their profound insights into the management of GIST. (Figure 2)
